Parents and siblings will have a rare opportunity to hear a candid account from Stacy Israel, director of special needs services, JCC, who grew up with siblings of varying abilities. After the keynote, there will be separate discussion groups for parents and siblings. Parents will discuss tools and techniques to balance the needs of their children, while siblings will explore the triumphs and challenges of being a sibling of a child with special needs. Professionals from Jewish Community Services will facilitate the groups. Children, ages eight and up, are encouraged to attend. Parents are welcome without their children. Program is free.
