Description

Ulpan is an Israeli method for teaching and improving all Hebrew language skills - speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. BZD is offering a wide range of Ulpan classes to the Baltimore community. Each class is 12 sessions, twice a week for 6 weeks. Fall Semester: October 22nd Ă¢€“ November 29, 2012 Tuition Cost: $200, plus $30 for textbook. Instructor: Mrs. Elana Vogel is a middle school Ivrit teacher and Hebrew Language Coordinator at Beth Tfiloh. Born in Israel, she holds a BachelorĂ¢€™s Degree in Education from Sharansky Seminary of Tel Aviv and received her American teaching certification in Rhode Island. Her teaching experience ranges from pre-school to high school as well as providing continuing education for teachers. In addition, she specializes in teaching adults Hebrew reading, ranging from absolute beginning Hebrew reading, to reading prayer in the Siddur, as well as conversational Hebrew. Introductory to Hebrew: (Free class) Teaches participants to read Hebrew in only five 1-1/2 hour weekly sessions. Designed for people with no Hebrew background. Concentrates on teaching the Hebrew alphabet, and reading skills. Registration for this class cannot be done online. Contact BZD (410-484-4510) to register. Beginner Hebrew: ($200, plus $30 for textbook) The beginner class focuses on reading and writing. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm at the BZD office. Advanced Hebrew: ($200, plus $30 for textbook) The Advanced Hebrew class will emphasize reading news articles and discussing in class. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-7:30pm at the BZD office. * Full payment required to reserve spot. A minimum of six students must be registered for each class.
