Ohr Chadash Academy Community Meeting
8:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion
6602 Park Heights Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21215
This is a community meeting discussing the inception, development, and student enrollment of a new yeshiva, Ohr Chadash Academy. For more information, please email info@ohrchadashbaltimore.org. The closing of Yeshivat Rambam at the end of the current academic year has left a critical void in the educational offerings of our community and hundreds of students without school placements for next year. A group of concerned parents, educators, professionals and community leaders have joined together to open Ohr Chadash Academy for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year. We endeavor to serve students in Kindergarten through sixth grade, with the possibility of an Early Childhood program. Please join us for an informational meeting open to the community on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 8:30 PM at Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion Congregation, 6602 Park Height Avenue. Ohr Chadash Academy is guided by the following principles: 1. Excellence in Judaic and general studies, with a focus on the development of each individual child 2. Israel engagement, support and commitment 3. Commitment to the use of educational technology 4. Fiscal responsibility and transparency 5. Open communication 6. Community collaboration We have begun the process of reaching out to local Rabbinic leadership and have received their support. Additionally, Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb has agreed to chair the Rabbinic Advisory Committee. We are working diligently to create community partnerships with local organizations. Many specific committees are now being formed to oversee each aspect of the school's operations. Utilizing our collective efforts, we endeavor to ensure that present and future generations of students receive the valuable Judaic and general education that they desire and deserve. Our efforts are still in their infancy. To readily achieve our goal, we must join together as a community and steadfastly pledge our assistance. We look to you for your support, encouragement, passion, and motivation. Most of all, please give us your time, as that is the most valuable gift you can give. We hope to present more details in our community meeting on Sunday night. In the meantime, please e-mail info@ohrchadashbaltimore.org for questions and additional information. You are invited and encouraged tosign up for committees on our website, www.ohrchadashbaltimore.org, which will be updated with information as it becomes available.
